We drove our last 395 miles from Canyon, Texas to home on Friday, June 11. All was well here but incredibly overgrown with grass and weeds.
Saturday Mark was up and at it early mowing our jungle around here. He spent the whole HOT weekend working with mower, skid steer, tractor and weed whipper.
I rested my foot so I could go to a concert Saturday night and church Sunday morning!
Monday I got a MUCH needed haircut and we stocked up on groceries. This was my first time riding the store scooter where I know a lot of people! ☺️ I survived with no accidents and very little embarrassment.
I was so glad to finally get to a podiatrist for this painful Plantar Fasciitis! Yesterday, June 15, was my appointment with Eric Thelander, DPM at the Centennial Foot & Ankle Specialists.
We REALLY liked Dr Thelander. They took X-rays, did ultra-sound, and exam and SHOWED us exactly what is going on with my plantar fasciitis and why it hurts so much. He said I have a small heel spur, but the PF is the cause of my heel pain. He gave me a cortisone injection and an application for a handicapped parking permit! The shot hurt, but not any worse than it hurts sometimes anyway!
He said my shoe and orthotics choices are good, and all the stretching and icing I am doing is good, and also my night splints.
I go back to see him in 3 weeks.
I told the doc about the wheelchair and Marcel and asked him if I SHOULD be walking, and he said “NO!” A less decorated Marcel accompanied us to Park Meadows!
So that is my excuse, I guess! I have not been able to do much on my feet since we got home. I am not sure WHEN Maxx will be cleaned and unloaded, but he is sitting out there comfortably waiting as we bring in a few things at a time!
All in all, it is good to be home and we have all the time we need to get everything back in order! I so want to go meet our new baby niece Penelope and cuddle her and big sister Genevieve!
