It was a great day for a drive. Barns and old buildings always catch my attention.
A drive through Spearfish Canyon is not complete without a stop at the Latchstring Restaurant and the
Spearfish Canyon Lodge.
The Lodge is beautiful. We have never stayed there because we travel with our own accommodations, but it is nice to stop and look!
On the drive through the canyon we could not help but notice the number of downed and broken trees and all the disarray. It is really quite a mess. We have not taken this drive in a few years. Mark asked someone in the lodge and we learned of a storm, including tornados in July 2020.
These pictures from around the area show just a sample of what we saw on the drive. There is a LOT of cleanup to be done!

The Black Hills National Cemetery is beautiful.
Hart Ranch is south of Rapid City off of 79. This is a view of it before we head west on Spring Creek Road. If you look way over there you can see it and all the RVs in storage! It is amazing how many leave their units here and have the staff move them to a site whenever they want.

Hope they get it cleaned up before a fire goes through....
Fire is what we think of for sure!
